Girl, 6, Rescued from Roof

By Press Release

The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency.
WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest Police Department received a 911 call Oct. 8 about a 6-year-old girl on the roof of the Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool.
Responding officers learned that while her mother was inside the building, the 6-year-old went outside the building with friends. While outside, she climbed a tree to get onto the roof so that she could retrieve a flip-flop, but then could not get back down.
Cpl. Eckert climbed to the roof and stayed with her until Wildwood Crest Fire Department arrived with a ladder so that they both could get back down safely. Mother and daughter were reunited.
