LoBiondo (R-2nd) Monday announced the open period for fire and rescue departments to apply for federal funding under the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program (AFGP).
The application period will run through May 28 with awards being announced later this year. The AFGP awards one-year grants directly to fire.
The FY 2010 program will distribute $390 million to first responder organizations across the country.
