SWAINTON – Court House Fire Company No. 1 responded to a report of a structure fire with possible entrapment on the first block Brookridge Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4.
“It was a little worse than a chimney fire,” said Chief Paul Hand. “It looked worse than it was.”
The fire was contained to the attic, and was declared under control at 7 p.m., according to scanner reports.
There was a couple in the home at the time of the fire. A neighbor alerted them and they were able to exit the home. There were no injuries reported, Hand added.
Stone Harbor responded for rapid intervention along with Goshen who sent a tanker, which was later recalled. Rio Grande provided backup for Court House.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
