CAPE MAY – Cape May City Council met Aug. 6 with members of the Environmental Commission, an official of the Surfrider Foundation, and an owner of a local restaurant certified by Surfrider for its environmental practices.
The discussion was to guide the council as the city explores the development of a comprehensive ordinance on plastic-bag use and non-recyclable products which present a danger to the waterways.
Among the examples being considered are recently adopted ordinances from Avalon and Stone Harbor, both of which are in their first year of operation in the respective boroughs.
Central to the efforts at ordinance development in Avalon and Stone Harbor was the ongoing involvement of the business community most impacted by the regulations.
After a wide-ranging discussion, Deputy Mayor Patricia Hendricks called on council to “work forward so we can have an ordinance to bring to the table soon.”
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
