Duckstamps now available at Wetlands Institute

By On Deck Staff

The Tidepool Museum Shop at the Wetlands Institute is now selling Federal Duck Stamps.
The $15 duck stamp is a permit license and not used for postage.
Conservationists often purchase stamps as a donation to the program or to gain entrance to National Wildlife Refuges. Many people collect duck stamps for the beautiful artwork in miniature.
Since 1934, the United States Fish and Wildlife Duck Stamp Program has helped to save and preserve more than 5 million acres of wetlands that play an essential role in protecting our water supply, helping to filter out agricultural and other pollutants before they reach the drinking water supply.
Historically, over 90 percent of every dollar goes directly to buying and saving wetlands.
In addition to the Duck Stamps at the gift shop, check out the great selection of books, perfect for summer reading for beach goers of all ages.
The new Wings ‘n Water poster is available along with shirts, miniature bird carvings, pewter shells, puzzles, jewelry, stuffed animals, and other unique items.
For more information about Federal Duck Stamps, the gift shop or other events at the Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor, call 609-368-1211 or visit wetlandsinstitute.org.
