WOODBINE – The following are the arrests made by the Woodbine State Police and their activities from Nov. 9-Dec. 11.
Arrests: The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
Jerome Graves, 28, from Woodbine was charged Nov. 12 with hindering apprehension for giving false information as to his true identity while on a motor vehicle stop in Dennis Twp. During the stop, he gave his brother’s information as his own, unbeknownst that his brother also had a warrant active for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and during the investigation it was then learned that he gave false information and his true identity was learned. He was then found to have multiple warrants active for his arrest also. He was processed and lodged in Cape May County Correctional Center.
Daniel Watts, 25, from Camden was charged Nov. 17 with hindering apprehension for giving false information as to his true identity while on a motor vehicle stop in Dennis Twp. He was a passenger in the vehicle who was found to not be wearing his seatbelt. He was placed under arrest and during the investigation it was then learned that he gave false information due to over $2,000 in criminal and traffic warrants and was also found to be a NJ Wanted Person for violation of probation. He was processed and lodged in Cape May County Correctional Center.
Jane Piazza, 55, from Seaville was charged Nov. 19 with simple assault (domestic violence) for admittedly striking her daughter in the face with a closed fist during an argument at their residence. She was arrested, processed and released.
During the course of a simple assault domestic violence investigation, Matthew and Michelle Hawthorne (brother and sister), ages 29 and 30 respectively, from Upper Twp. were charged Nov. 19 with possession of marijuana, cocaine, hypodermic needles and other paraphernalia which was found on location at their residence. Michelle Hawthorne was also charged with the assault which allegedly occurred against her grandmother at the residence, and had an active traffic warrant for her arrest. Both were processed and released.
Kathleen Smith, 40, from Wildwood Crest was charged Nov. 21 with possession of marijuana while on a motor vehicle stop in Dennis Twp. She was arrested, processed and released.
James Murray, 31, from Woodbine was charged Nov. 21 with operating a motor vehicle in Dennis Twp. while on the suspended list. He was also charged with DWI during the stop. He was arrested, processed and released.
Joseph and George Flanagan, ages 34 and 32 respectively, from Eldora and Adrianna Bortles, 24, from Court House were charged Nov. 21 with possession of hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia while on a motor vehicle stop in Dennis Twp. Driver Joseph Flanagan was also charged with possession of marijuana and passengers George Flanagan and Bortles were each found to have over $2,000 in warrants active for them. All were processed; Joseph Flanagan was released and the other two were lodged in Cape May County Correctional Center on the strength of the warrants.
Eleini Delgado, 23, from Woodbine was charged Nov. 21 with simple assault domestic violence for admittedly striking a subject on the head with a house phone. She was arrested, processed and released.
During the course of a well-being check, Kristine Rivera, 47, from Brigantine was charged Nov. 22 with operating a motor vehicle in Upper Twp. while on the suspended list. A concerned citizen called to state that an apparently intoxicated person was sitting in a parked car at a Marmora grocery store. Investigation led to her arrest for DWI also. She was arrested, processed and released.
Whitney Mottershead, 27, from Court House was charged Nov. 25 with possession of suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, and hypodermic syringes during a motor vehicle stop in Upper Twp. She was arrested, processed and released.
Kenneth Fuqua, 30, from Millville, N.J. was charged Nov. 25 with burglary, theft, eluding, and possession of stolen property during the course of a burglary investigation by Woodbine Station personnel. The suspect allegedly removed an air conditioner unit from a residence in Dennis Twp., climbed in and stole approximately $2,500 worth of goods and property from the residence. Information was developed as to his whereabouts and a search warrant was executed on his residence revealing some of the reported stolen property. Also located within the residence was additional evidence that through the investigation was learned was stolen property from an active Millville Police Department case. He was processed and lodged in Cape May County Correctional Center.
James McCallon, 50, from Ocean City was charged Nov. 28 with theft by deception for allegedly having approximately $8,700 worth of extensive repairs done to his vehicle and then not paying for the services. He was processed and released.
Terrel Brown, 28, from Vineland, N.J. was charged Dec. 4 with obstruction, disorderly conduct and DWI for refusing multiple times to provide his documents and for failing to comply with lawful orders during a motor vehicle stop in Woodbine. He was arrested, processed and released.
