The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is innocent until proven otherwise in court.
WILDWOOD – A woman was charged with heroin possession and related offenses Feb. 21 after a motor vehicle stop, according to a Wildwood Police Department release.
On that date, the Uniform Patrol Division made a motor vehicle stop in connection with a covert narcotics-related investigation. The stop was in the 400 west block of Rio Grande Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Marissa Shelton, 24.
The ensuing investigation revealed narcotics paraphernalia along with distribution amounts of a controlled dangerous substance, allegedly heroin. The substance was prepackaged for street-level sales and distribution and had an estimated street value of $500.
As a result of the investigation, Shelton was charged with possession of heroin, conspiracy to possess heroin, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
Shelton was processed and released pending a court appearance.
