Vandalism Continues

PETERSBURG – Upper Township Committee member Hobart Young reported Aug. 12 there have been additional instances of vandalism, presumably by local teens, at Caldwell Park on Stagecoach Road.
“We found smashed beer bottles and cans all over the place and a pick-up truck tore up the parking lot,” said Young. “The glass from the bottles was all over the playground and in the mulch and took many hours of employee time to try to fix. What is the answer to this senseless vandalism?”
It was confirmed the park’s front and back gates are locked every night and they will be closed at dusk rather than 10 p.m., as is the case working around football practice and other activities.
Committee member Curtis Corson recommended trail cameras and all agreed that parents need to help monitor the behavior of their children to eliminate future instances of destruction.
