Two Charged On Drug-related Counts

WHITESBORO – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announce the arrest of Jennifer R. Bailey, 37, and Claudio F. Bailey, 60, both residents of Whitesboro, for the distribution of a methamphetamine on Dec. 13. 

These arrests were the conclusion of a cooperative investigation between the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force and the Middle Township Police Department Street Crimes Unit.

On Dec. 13, the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force along with members of the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team executed a court authorized search warrant at the Bailey residence, located on the 1500 block Route 9 South, Whitesboro. As a result of the search of the residence, distribution amounts of methamphetamine were located and seized. Also seized at this location were amounts of cocaine and marijuana.

Both Jennifer R. Bailey and Claudio F. Bailey were charged with distribution of methamphetamine, third degree, possession of cocaine, third degree, and possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense. Both were remanded to the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $120,000 cash bail.

Taylor advises that persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of three to five years in New Jersey State Prison.

Taylor stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities to target anyone selling illegal controlled dangerous substances.
