Two Arrested for Removing Items from Sidewalk After Storm

STONE HARBOR- Two were arrested Oct. 31 about 8:03 p.m. for removing items from the sidewalk at 103rd Street and Sunset Drive and placing them in their car.
According to a press release, Officer Anthony Tirelli observed an open door to a residence in the vicinity. After contacting the homeowner it was determined the items were damaged property from the hurricane and had been placed curbside for removal.
The driver of the vehicle, Miguel Candelaria-Perez, of Middle Township, was charged on traffic summonses as an unlicensed driver and removing items without authorization.
The passenger supplied false information to the officers and was subsequently arrested. At the station, a fingerprint check revealed the passenger was really Juan Rivera-Gonzalez, and that he attempted to conceal his identity by supplying a false name.
The fingerprint check revealed he was wanted for drug court warrants from the county Sheriff’s Department. He was charged with Removing Items without Authorization and Hindering Apprehension and transported to the county jail.
