BURLEIGH — Information from a concerned citizen led to the arrest of two individuals at a local motel on drug charges.
On Sept. 6, Middle Township police received information regarding the possible distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
Members of the Major Crimes Unit in conjunction with the Patrol Division corroborated the information, which resulted in the seizure of marijuana and packaging materials used for the distribution of marijuana, and the arrests of Meredith McDermott, age 26, and Daniel Blose Jr., 26, both of the Catalina Motel, Burleigh.
McDermott was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Blose was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Blose was also charged with tampering with evidence by attempting to hide the marijuana from law enforcement at the scene. Both were placed in county jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
This case was investigated by the Middle Township Police Department Major Crimes Unit and Patrol Division with the assistance of the Wildwood Police Department and Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit.
