Suspect in Avalon Theft Turns Himself In

Avalon Police

By Press Release

AVALON – The Avalon Police Department has arrested an Atlantic County man in relation to a reported theft from an Avalon residence.
In July 2015, the victim contacted police to report the theft of jewelry, valued in excess of $10,000. During the time the jewelry went missing, the victim stated plumbing repairs were being conducted which led police to charge an employee of the contractor with theft. The employee, Charles Healy III, 28, of Somers Point, N.J. turned himself in to police upon learning of the charges.
Healy was charged with theft of movable property and was released on his own recognizance pending an Aug. 24 court date. The investigating officer was Detective Sgt. Joseph Gaughan. Any additional information can be provided to the Avalon Detectives at 609-967-3411. This matter has been sent to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
