By Herald Staff

WILDWOOD– On Saturday afternoon at approximately 5:44 p.m. officers of the Wildwood Police Department Uniform Patrol Division responded to 224 East Montgomery Avenue regarding a burglary in progress call.
Upon arrival at that address, officers located an open window along the east side of the property.
When officers gained entry into the building, they located Russell Hayward, a 47 year-old unemployed cook from Rio Grande inside.
Subsequent investigation by the Wildwood Detective Division found that Hayward gained entry into the building by climbing through the open window discovered by responding officers.
As a result of the investigation, Hayward was charged with burglary and lodged in the Cape May County Convectional Facility on a $25,000 Full Cash Bail set by the Honorable David DeWeese, JMC.
