Residents Forced At Gunpoint Into Bathtub as Assailants Ransack Home

NORTH CAPE MAY- At approximately midnight on Saturday, Nov. 8, the Lower Township Police Department received a report of a home invasion in the 200 block of Holmes Avenue.
According to a press release, the victims of the crime reported that they were forced at gun point into the bathtub of the home along with the family dog while the intruders ransacked the home, demanding to know where the cash was.
Neither of the victims suffered physical injuries. A third resident was not home at the time of the incident and has yet to be located.
The crime scene was processed and items of value were recovered from the home.
The neighborhood was canvassed for any additional information or leads with negative results at the time of this release.
Additional follow-up investigations are being conducted in the area.
The victims described the subjects entering the home as dark skinned black males. Both were armed with handguns and believed to be in their early twenties, approximately six feet tall with slender build.
One appeared to have facial hair and both had hooded sweatshirts on in an effort to hide their faces.
Once the assailants finished ransacking the home, they fled the area on foot.
The victims did not see a vehicle in the area.
The investigation has yet to determine if this was a random act or if the assailants had a motive in selecting the home. The victim’s names are being withheld pending further investigation.

Information will remain confidential and may be reported anonymously.
Patrolman C.J. Ryan, Detective Chris Lambert and Detective Art Mason are investigating the case. The Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit also provided assistance in attempting to track the suspects from the scene.
