Police Report Attempted Carjacking in Green Creek

GREEN CREEK — On Tuesday, Dec. 15, at approximately 8:34 p.m., police communications received a “911” call that a man had just been assaulted near the intersection of Route 47, and Bayshore Road.
Police communications received a call from the staff at Cape Regional Medical Center, reporting that a man had just came into the emergency room, following an altercation with two subjects on Route 47, in Green Creek.
Detective Clint Stocker and Patrolman Steven Novsak responded to the E.R. and met with the 38 yr old male victim, who said he was traveling south on Route 47, and had come to a stop for the red signal at Bayshore Road, when another vehicle approached his vehicle from behind and tapped the back bumper with their vehicle. At that time, an unidentified black male approach the victim with some type of edged weapon and demanded his truck from him.
The victim said he fought off the attacker and drove away from the scene, and headed to the hospital to be treated for minor cuts and abrasions, suffered while fending off his attacker. Prior to pulling away, he said the suspect vehicle, which is described as a black sub-compact type car, then turned west onto Bayshore Road. A search of the area, as well as a county-wide broadcast were made, without locating the suspect(s). The victim noted that there were two subjects; the assailant, and a black male driver.
