Police Charge Man with Assault, Weapons Offenses

WILDWOOD — On Sept. 11 at approximately 4:30 a.m., Wildwood police responded to 200 West Maple Ave. on the report of a disturbance.
It was ascertained that Robert Campbell had committed an act of aggravated assault against the mother of his child, during the course of a domestic dispute, police said.
Campbell, a 21-year-old carpenter who resides at above address, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon (bi-fold tactical knife) for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
Judge Louis Belasco set $50,000 cash bail for Campbell and no contact with the victim upon release.
The victim, 19, received a laceration as a result of the incident. She was treated for her injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Campbell could not post the required bail and was lodged in county jail.
