Police Charge Crest Man with Assault, Threats, Endangering

WILDWOOD CREST — On Saturday, Feb. 27, Wildwood Crest police responded to a domestic violence incident that had occurred the previous evening at a residence in the 7000 block of Pacific Avenue.
The victim reported that Michael A. Gilbert, 40, had slapped and punched her, kicking her about the body after she fell. She was also struck in the head with a bottle, police said.
The victim sustained injuries to her head, face and torso, according to police.
Gilbert also struck a child, causing a minor injury to the child’s face.
Gilbert was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and endangering the welfare of a child. He was lodged in county jail in lieu of $35,000.
