OCEAN CITY — Police here arrested a local man Monday, March 16 on six charges including weapons, burglary and robbery following the execution of a search warrant.
On March 13, 2009 at approximately 10:15PM Patrolman Chris Vivarelli observed a suspicious person in the alley 700 block of Asbury Avenue, but the individual fled on a bicycle. It was later reported that a burglary had occurred at a business located near where the suspect was observed.
Police used surveillance footage from another armed robbery on March 14 that occurred in the 200 block of West Avenue. Based on footage from the scene and other local businesses in the area along, with witness description and Vivarelli’s observations it was believed that the same person was involved with both crimes.
On March 16 at 7 p.m., the Ocean City Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of West Avenue.
Police arrested Mark C. Todd, 34, of Ocean City on charges of armed robbery, weapons possession, drug possession, forced burglary, and theft.
He was lodged in county jail in lieu of $100,000 bail set by Judge Richard Russell.
The investigation was conducted by Patrolman Andrew Huffard and Detectives Mark Pancoast, Dan Lancaster and Stephen Sullivan.
