Police Arrest, Charge Ocean City Man in Rape

OCEAN CITY — On Aug. 15 at 4:57 a.m., Ocean City Police Department received a call of a sexual assault, rape, investigation.
The female victim reported that she was assaulted at a resideince in the 700 block Wesley Avenue. She was able to give a partial name, address and physical description of the alleged assailant.
The investigation led to the arrest of Stephen M. Jacobs, 26, of Ocean City. He was charged with sexual assault. A warrant was issued by Superior Court Judge Raymond Batten in the amount of $200,000 full cash bail.
Jacobs was remanded to county jail in lieu of bail.
Conducting the investigation were Ocea City Police officers: Patrolman Walsh, Detectiev Sullivan, Detective Mazzuca. They were assisted my members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
