Philadelphia Man Opts Not to Pay for Towing; Lands in Jail

WILDWOOD — A Philadelphia man was arrested here for stealing his own car.
Police responded to a burglary/theft call at approximately 4:53 p.m. on Aug. 31 at Bob’s Auto Body at 401 W. Rio Grande Ave.
Police ascertained that a Caucasian male had allegedly driven a vehicle that was being stored at the property through a secured metal gate and fled the scene.
The vehicle, a 1998 Honda Civic, had been towed from North Wildwood on a parking violation.
Police apprehended the driver, Erick Patterson approximately one hour later.
Patterson, 38, of 3412 Brighton Street, Philadelphia, Pa., was charged with burglary, theft of services and criminal mischief. He was lodged in county jail after being unable to post $25,000 cash bail set by Judge David DeWeese.
