This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
WILDWOOD – Members of the Wildwood Police Department Street Crimes Unit concluded a four-week investigation July 12 concerning the sales of narcotics from a residence in the 200 East block Baker Avenue, located in Wildwood.
According to a release, at approximately 7 p.m., Wildwood Police Department Street Crimes Unit executed a court-authorized search warrant targeting the residence in connection to the illicit sales of narcotics from the residence.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, distribution quantities of heroin was recovered during the search of the premises. The controlled dangerous substance seized in connection to the investigation was prepackaged for street level sales. Additionally seized in connection to the search of the premises was narcotics paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, residents Alecsis Espada, 21, and Erica Pepe, 49, were arrested.
Espada was charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, distribution of heroin within a school zone, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe and endangering the welfare of a child.
Pepe was charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, distribution of heroin within a school zone, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe.
Espada and Pepe were issued their individual criminal charges and released on summonses complaints in accordance with the Attorney General Guidelines promulgated in connection with Criminal Justice Reform Policies and Directives.
The individual(s) listed is/are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
