OCEAN CITY — Ocean City Police Department reported 429 calls for service, a daily average of 61, for the period April 27-May 3.
The following are some of the more serious calls:
April 27:

• City ordinance noise complaint, unfounded, 600 block Asbury Ave. at 12:20 a.m.
• Insecure property investigation 2900 block West Ave. at 2:10 a.m
• Sewage leak reported 11th St. and Boardwalk, all proper notifications made at 7:15 a.m.
• Residential burglar activation W. 10th St. at 7:28 a.m.
• Electric wire down causing hazard 300 block 3rd St. at 9:04 a.m.
• Criminal mischief investigation, graffiti, 3300 block West Ave. at 9:48 a.m.
• Warrant arrest by Ptl. Ruf of Orlando Mitchell, 2400 block West Ave. at 10:27 a.m.
• Medical assist 400 block 8th St. at 10:50 a.m.
• Theft from motor vehicle reported Windsor Dr., ongoing investigation at 11:52 a.m.
• Theft of license plates reported 800 block Asbury Ave., ongoing investigation at 12:48 p.m.
• Insecure property investigation 2800 block Wesley Ave. property secured at 2:33 p.m.

Public service announcemnts:
• May 3: The Ocean City Police Dept. along with PBA Local 61 conducted a public service booth during the Mile Long Block Party along Asbury Ave.
The officers took photos of children in the new “Stealth” Police vehicle that was recently publicized in a local newspaper. Also educational materials about crime prevention and child safety issues were distributed.
