OCEAN CITY — On Aug. 14 about 9:13 p.m., Ocean City police were notified by Shore Memorial Hospital that they had a possible assault victim in their emergency room.
Officers responded and were able to obtain a brief description of what took place.
The victim reported that he left the Boardwalk from the Ninth Street ramp, and walked behind the stores near the parking lotsl He then said that three 16-17 year old white males behind the stores jumped him.
The three males beat the victim after he refused to give them money. The victim said that he was kicked and punched multiple times in the abdominal area.
It is not believed by police that any weapons were involved, according to a release.
After the incident, the victim went to the hospital for his injuries prior to calling police.
The victim sustained serious injuries that required eergemcy surgery at a local trauma center.
Ocean City Police Department asks that anyone who witnessed the assault, or was in the area of Ninth Street and the Boardwalk about the time of the incident, to contact the Detective Bureau at (609) 399-0455 or Police Dispatch at (609) 399-9111.
