Ocean City Man Arrested for Burglary, Theft, Credit Card Fraud

OCEAN CITY — Ocean City Police Department investigated several burglary and thefts that occurred over a two week period in August 2009 that ended in the arrest of a city resident.
According to an Aug. 19 release, those crimes included late night entries into occupied homes.
During the course of the investigation it was learned that the accused, Mark S. Rackley, 49, of this city, was using credit cards that were stolen to purchase items at local businesses. By utilizing surveillance video from those local businesses the police were able to identify Rackley, as the person allegedly using those credit cards on several occasions.
Police were also able to recover a stolen computer taken from one of the homes.
Rackley was charged with three counts of burglary, three counts of theft, and two counts of credit card fraud.
An arrest warrant was issued by Judge Richard Russell, JMC, in the amount of $25,000 full cash bail.
The investigation was conducted by Detective Stephen Sullivan and Detective Dan Lancaster.
