Narcotic Interdiction Nets Arrest for Possession of Heroin

ERMA — Lower Township Police Department on Dec. 1 at approximately 4:30 pm while conducting a drug interdiction operation in the Villas section of Lower Township arrested a subject who was believed to be in the process of delivering heroin.
The suspect is identified as Jackie J. Thinna, a 26-year-old male from the first block of West Easy Street Drive in Court House. During the course of the investigation the suspect was spotted near a convenience store in Villas. When Thinna observed Detective Chris Lambert, he fled on foot and was later apprehended after discarding a large rock of what is believed to be heroin.
The rock of heroin which could be packaged into over 100 bags of heroin with a street value of $2,500 or more. The suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to the Lower Township Police Department for processing.
Judge Birchmeier set bail at $10,000 cash for Thinna who is charged with possession of heroin.
In addition to this charge the suspect was wanted on miscellaneous warrants out of multiple jurisdictions including non-support in the amount of $12,941 and additional warrants totaling almost $500. Thinna was later transferred to the County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
Detective Lambert and Patrolman William Barcas initiated the investigation with the assistance of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit.
