CLINTON TOWNSHIP — A North Wildwood woman was charged with child endangerment, drunk driving, and various motor vehicle offences, according to a Central Jersey newspaper report.
The Express Times, at lehighvalleylive.com, published a story Jan. 3 reporting that Lucy DeJames, of North Wildwood, drove her 2005 Volkswagen Jetta down an embankment on Jan. 30 causing her vehicle to overturn.
Police received a call reporting the accident and eventually found DeJames and her two children, an 8-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, at the home of the original caller.
Nobody was seriously injured in the accident, but all were evaluated by the High Bridge Rescue Squad.
DeJames’ charge of second-degree child endangerment carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in state prison, the paper stated.
DeJames was released to the custody of a family member.
