Middle Township Serial Burglary Suspect Captured

COURT HOUSE — Middle Township police announced the arrest of a suspect in the recent rash of burglaries in this community.
Wilbert Jones, 46, of the 3700 block of Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. on March 3 for the burglary of the following commercial properties: US Gas in Rio Grande, the Shell station in Court House and the Court House Diner. He was lodged in county jail in lieu of $50,000.
According to the state Department of Corrections, Jones was previously incarcerated for over two years on burglary charges out of Cumberland County. He was released from Bayside State Prison on Dec. 29 last year.
The Middle Township Police Department’s Major Crime and Street Crimes units worked vigorously to apprehend Jones and would like to thank the public for all of their assistance in closing these cases, a release stated.
