Man Charged with Assault, Resisting Arrest

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP POLICE RELEASE:
COURT HOUSE — On the July 18, police received a call of a possible home invasion.
Upon arrival, officers found that the front door to 1223 Rt. 9 had been kicked in and the female victim had sustained facial injuries. She had stated to police that someone had broken into her house and assaulted her before fleeing.
Officers at the scene investigated further to find out that the boyfriend, Aaron Logan had kicked the door in and assaulted the victim.
The Cape May County Sheriffs Office K-9 unit was called to track Logan through the woods. A short time later, Sgt. Conte and Ptl. Sittineri returned to the home to find that Logan had returned and ran out the back door. He was chased back through the woods by officers and Sheriffs K-9 and was apprehended near Court House Uniforms by Ptl. Jones who was on a perimeter post.
Logan was charged with Aggravated Assault and Resisting Arrest by flight and lodged in The Cape May County Jail in lieu of $25,000. cash bail. Ptl. Sittineri sustained a leg injury during the chase. Cpl. DeVico and Det. Martin are investigating the case.
