Lower Police Nab Vineland Man with Drugs

LOWER TOWNSHIP POLICE RELEASE:
VILLAS — The Lower Township Police Department on August 21, 2009 at approximately 12:00 pm while conducting a drug interdiction operation in the Villas section of Lower Township arrested a subject who was in the process of delivering a substantial amount of narcotics.
The suspect is identified as Dino Cappellari 37 years of age of the 3000 block of Wilderness Drive in Vineland, New Jersey. The suspect was under surveillance as he traveled down Bayshore Road to deliver various types of drugs to a location in the Villas section of Lower Township. As the suspect pulled into a convenience store parking lot detectives’ vehicles
surrounded him. The subject appeared to be under the influence of some intoxicating substance and was removed from the vehicle. A consent to search was requested and a search thereafter disclosed numerous drugs including sixty 80mg oxycontin pills, 35 bags of suspected heroin, a bag of suspected powder cocaine and a bag of suspected crack cocaine.
In addition, there was miscellaneous drug paraphernalia located within the vehicle.
A passenger in the vehicle identified as Jessica L. Chase 22 years of age from the same residence as first suspect was found to be wanted by seven different agencies for multiple arrest warrants and was taken into custody for these charges. Both subjects were arrested at the scene and taken to the Lower Township Police Department for processing.
Judge David DeWeese set bail at $50,000.00 cash for Dino Cappellari who is charged with possession of prescription narcotics and possession of prescription narcotics with the intent to distribute; possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute; possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. In addition to the previous criminal charges
the defendant was also charged with motor vehicle violations including driving under the influence and refusal to take a breath test. The second suspect (Chase) was served with approximately $2000.00 worth of warrants from various jurisdictions. Both subjects were later transferred to the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
The Lower Township Detective Bureau investigated the case.
