Indictments Filed Sept. 11

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 16 indictments Sept. 11. The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.  
The following actions are alleged by law enforcement agents. Persons named are innocent until proven otherwise in court.
Erica Pepe, Alecsis Espada
When police executed a search warrant on a residence on Baker Avenue in Wildwood, they arrested Erica Pepe, 49, and Alecsis Espada, 21, for possession of distribution levels of heroin.
The two were indicted for possession of a CDS, possession with intent to distribute and intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school. Each count was third degree. The presence of a 2-year-old child led to a second-degree count for endangering the welfare of a child against Espada.
Joseph D. Marcellino
Joseph Marcellino was indicted on one count of third-degree aggravated assault related to a domestic violence incident in Wildwood Aug. 13.
Matthew Pacitti, Robert McMichael, Brian Schubert, Kevin Valentine-Espinosa, William Gerner, Michael McCaffrey, Peter Mastromarco, Marissa Kussman, Norman E. Johnson
Each of the individuals listed was charged separately on counts of possession of a CDS, third degree.
Jorge A. Valentin
Jorge Valentin, of Wildwood, was indicted on five counts related to drug possession.  He faces two counts of third-degree possession of a CDS, fentanyl, and buprenorphine, along with resisting arrest.
These three counts were in the third degree. He also faces two fourth-degree counts for obstructing the administration of law and tampering with evidence.
Jordan A. Shelton
Jordan Shelton was indicted for aggravated assault on a police officer, fourth degree, and resisting arrest, third degree. The incident occurred in Wildwood July 16.
Evan M. Weidman
Evan Weidman, 32, of Medford, faces counts for second and third-degree aggravated assault related to injuries sustained by a female victim while Weidman was driving under the influence.
John D. Young
John Young is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a woman in a domestic violence situation.  The assault charges are second and third degree.
Sergio Garcia-Perez
A motor vehicle stop in Wildwood July 20 resulted in the arrest of Sergio Garcia-Perez, 38, of Del Haven, on weapons violation charges. Garcia-Perez was indicted this week for second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, a handgun, and fourth-degree prohibited weapon, hollow point bullets.
