Indictments Filed Nov. 20

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 21 indictments Nov. 20.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance. 
A charge of “certain person not to have a weapon” can be brought against someone possessing a weapon who was previously convicted of a felony. 
The individuals listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
James E. Allen, John A. Hruska
James Allen, 30, of Cape May, was indicted for possession of a CDS, fentanyl, and possession with intent to distribute, each count in the third degree.
Allen’s proximity to a park led to a further count for possession with intent within 500 feet of public property, a second-degree offense.
John Hruska, 34, of North Wildwood, faces a single count of third degree possession of a CDS.
Robert J. Allison, Jared A. Parker
Both Robert Allison and Jared Parker face separate and unrelated indictments for third-degree escape after each removed himself from official detention without authorization. 
Douglas J. Baumstark, Megan V. Orlando
Douglas Baumstark, 42, of Wildwood Crest, and Megan Orlando, 30, of Court House, both face a three-count indictment for theft, conspiracy and receiving stolen property, each count third degree.
John L. Blohm
John Blohm, 70, of Upper Township, was indicted on the first-degree count of aggravated sexual assault. According to the indictment the assault occurred in 1992 and 1993 when the victim was ages 7 and 8 years old.
Kyle W. Calise, Kevin E. Fine, Stephen Gassman, Jerome A. Graves, Dominico James, Dominic Jacobs, Jr., David A. Pron,  Joseph A. Shrader, Brandi L. Watt, Patrick Wilkins
Each of the individuals listed faces separate and unrelated indictments for possession of a CDS, third degree. Both Wilkins and Gassman face multiple counts of possession.
Jeremiah T. Cardell
Jeremiah Cardell, 41, of North Wildwood, was indicted for second-degree sexual assault.
Michael R. Flannery
Michael Flannery, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree receipt of stolen property, along with two fourth-degree counts for unlawful possession of a weapon.  The two weapons in question were a knife and a hatchet.
Phillip T. Hayes
Phillip Hayes, of Woodbine, was engaged in what the indictment states was a domestic violence assault in Woodbine in August. He faces two counts for aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, all counts third degree.
A prior conviction in Atlantic County for robbery led to two additional counts for certain person, one of which is in the second degree with the final count being fourth degree. 
The weapons Hayes had possession of were a six-to-eight- inch knife and a 12-gauge pump shotgun.
Juan O. Maldonado, Amanda V. Mayerson
Juan Maldonado, of Wildwood, and Amanda Mayerson, of Rio Grande, were each indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin. Maldonado faces the added count of possession with intent to distribute. All counts were in the third degree.
Daniel McCray
Daniel McCray, of Wildwood, was indicted for third-degree resisting arrest, along with three fourth-degree counts for obstructing the administration of law, possession of a prohibited weapon, a knife, and certain person. 
The last charge stems from McCray’s earlier conviction in 1992 for aggravated assault.
Edgardo J. Torrado
Edgardo Torrado, 33, of Lower Township, faces a nine-count indictment, including three counts of third-degree possession of a CDS, three counts of third-degree possession with intent to distribute and three counts of second-degree intent to distribute within 500 feet of public property.
