Indictments Filed Jan. 31

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 17 indictments Jan. 31. The abbreviation CDS used below stands for controlled dangerous substance. 
Individuals convicted of certain crimes forfeit their right to possess a weapon. The charge “certain person” below stands for a “certain person not to have weapons” offense; it is often applied to individuals who have violated the ban on weapons.
Austin Cori, Richard Winter, Khelena Kireyeva
Austin Cori, 26, of Sea Isle City, Richard Winter, 32, and Khelena Kireyeva, 37, both of Runnemede, were indicted on two counts of third-degree burglary, one count of third-degree conspiracy and one count of theft, fourth degree. 
The three allegedly committed burglaries in Strathmere. They were arrested following a detailed description provided by witnesses alerted by an alarm.
Claudio F. Bailey, Jennifer R. Bailey
Claudio Bailey, 60, and Jennifer Bailey, 37, both of Whitesboro, were indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree, four separate counts, along with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, third degree.
Jonathan A. Moll, Donna M. Moll
Jonathan and Donna Moll, of Marmora, were indicted on second-degree insurance fraud, along with attempted theft and conspiracy, each also second degree. Additional counts in the indictment accuse the two of third-degree theft, forgery, uttering a forged instrument and fraudulent use of a credit card.
The indictment alleges that the couple attempted to control the money of a single female victim in excess of $75,000. To accomplish that, the two allegedly forged a power of attorney.
The indictment further states that the two committed “five or more” acts of insurance fraud against an insurance policy in the name of the victim.
Mark A. Brown
Mark Brown, 19, of Whitesboro, was indicted for receiving stolen property, third degree.
Mark A. Cucchi
Mark Cucchi was indicted for possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, third degree and certain person, fourth degree. Cucchi was previously convicted of arson in Gloucester County.
Audrey Duncan
Audrey Duncan, 26, of Egg Harbor Township, was indicted for possession of a CDS, third degree, and criminal trespass, fourth-degree.
Bruce Higgins
Bruce Higgins, 42, of Virginia, was indicted for first-degree robbery. Higgins allegedly robbed a bank in Ocean City Dec. 15 by presenting the teller with a note and threatening the use of a deadly weapon.
Higgins was identified as a suspect by Atlantic City police based on surveillance photos distributed to area law enforcement agencies. He was apprehended in Atlantic City after allegedly failing to rob one bank and successfully robbing another.
Jayson Lopez-Acevedo
Jayson Lopez-Acevedo, 28, of Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, third degree. An attempt to conceal evidence and flee arrest led to additional counts for hindering apprehension, resisting arrest, and obstruction of the administration of law, each fourth degree.
Richard J. Martin
Richard Martin, of Ocean City, was indicted for false public alarms, third degree, two separate counts along with impersonation, third degree. Martin allegedly raised false alarms Aug. 31 and Oct. 2 requiring Ocean City police to respond.  When questioned on Aug. 31, he allegedly impersonated another person.
Brenden McLaughlin
Brenden McLaughlin, 26, of Avalon, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin with fentanyl, third degree. The National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that Fentanyl (also known as fentanil) is a synthetic opioid that is similar to morphine but is 50 to 100 times more potent.
Eric Moyer
Eric Moyer, 38, of Villas, was indicted for aggravated assault on a police officer. The incident occurred while Moyer was being arrested for contempt of court.
Noah T. Platt
Noah Platt was indicted for possession of a CDS, cocaine Aug. 11, 2016, in Dennis Township.
Jorge Reyes
Jorge Reyes was indicted for possession with intent to distribute less than one-half ounce of marijuana in West Wildwood in August. A second count accuses him of possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia. Each count was fourth degree.
Frankie Sola
Frankie Sola, 33, of North Wildwood, was indicted for possession of a CDS, heroin, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent within 1,000 feet of a school and within 500 feet of public property. Each count was third degree except the last one which was second degree.
James Troiano
James Troiano, 35, of Vineland, was indicted for third-degree burglary. On Dec. 15, Troiano allegedly unlawfully entered a residence on Cliffside Road in Lower Township.
Hallie L. Wheaton
Hallie Wheaton, 22, of North Cape May, was indicted for possession of a CDS, alprazolam, a Schedule IV drug.
