VILLAS — On Jan. 8 at approximately 12:20 p.m., Lower Township police received a 911 call from a Pennsylvania man who stated he was in town to check on his summer residence and observed a man hiding in his bedroom closet at 28 E. Tampa Avenue.
Patrolman Dallas Bohn responded and observed that the back door window of the residence had been broken out. Bohn then entered the residence and located in one of the bedrooms a suspect later identified as Robert M. Kenney, 34, who was arrested at the scene and charged with fourth-degree criminal trespass and criminal mischief for damage to the rear door.
The owner of the residence became suspicious when he received an electric bill for his summer residence and drove to Lower Township to check on his summer home.
Kenny advised Officers that he was currently homeless and had been living in the residence for approximately three weeks.
