Father Sues State, County Over Son’s Death

COURT HOUSE— Juan Rivera Perez, the father of Caden Rivera who was allegedly killed by his mother’s boyfriend Damian Garcia Rodriguez on April 22 has filed a civil suit against the State of New Jersey, The Department of Children and Families and Cape May County according to a press release sent by his attorney Mati Jarve.
Perez says he contacted DYFS on March 19, 2009 to report abuse and says the state failed to protect his two year old son.
The suit seeks an unspecified amount of damages
