By Herald Staff

NORTH WILDWOOD – Police have arrested a father and son duo accused of stealing $4500 in cash from a business in early August.
Brian Barone, 56, and Christian Barone, 19, both of Garfield, allegedly broke into a business near the corner of 25th and the Boardwalk around 3:30 a.m. Aug. 11.
Police said one suspect broke into the basement of the business while the second subject served as a lookout.
The North Wildwood Police Department posted on social media on Aug. 26 seeking public assistance. They say help from the public played a role in their investigation.
The senior Barone faces charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. Authorities say he is lodged in the Essex County Jail.
The younger Barone faces charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. Police did not say whether Christian Barone had been placed behind bars.
Any charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
