WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest police detectives along with assistance from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office concluded a month-long investigation of a burglary and criminal sexual contact case.
A female alerted the Wildwood Crest Police on Aug. 4 that an unknown male entered her property in Wildwood Crest without her permission. While on her property the male harassed her and touched her inappropriately.
The investigation led to Ralph Prate, 47, of Wildwood Crest, to be charged with the alleged crimes of criminal sexual contact, harassment, and burglary. Bail was set at $25,000/10 percent. Prate was released after posting the required 10 percent. The victim was not injured during the incident.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
