BURLEIGH -The Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage will sponsor Stop Running, Start Living, a community safe surrender event, Sept. 28 to help individuals with outstanding bench warrants resolve their matters.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church, 1248 Route 9 South, Court House.
Outstanding bench warrants for most municipal and Superior Court matters, such as traffic, criminal, child support and juvenile complaints, originating in Cape May and Atlantic counties will be addressed.
Judiciary staff will work with individuals, who will not be taken into custody, to schedule court appearances to resolve their case.
Representatives from local social services and public agencies will be available for the following services:
• HOPE ONE van
• mental health and substance abuse treatment
• legal assistance
• veteran’s assistance
Judiciary staff will be available with information on Criminal Justice Reform, Recovery Court, Municipal Court, and other Judiciary programs and services.
Government identification such as a driver’s license, photo identification, school identification or a birth certificate will be required for participation.
