Youth Hit By Vehicle on Bayshore Road

VILLAS — A 12-year-old male was struck by a vehicle Wed., Dec. 21 about 3:26 p.m. on Bayshore Road.
Police investigation revealed a vehicle was traveling southbound on Bayshore Road when a pedestrian ran out into the roadway in front of the vehicle near the intersection of Bayshore Road and Woodland Avenue.
The male had been dropped off by a school bus one block away and was walking towards his home, which required him to cross the street, according to Lt. Thomas Beeby of Lower Township police, He did not use a designated crosswalk and failed to use due caution, according to police.
The male sustained moderate abrasions to his head and right eye area and was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.
The driver of the vehicle was not charged. Witnesses reported that the driver had no time to react to avoid the collision with the subject.
