Vehicle Fire Closes Route 47

The utility truck that caught fire on Route 47.

NORTH DENNIS – A commercial truck caught fire on Route 47 Aug. 22.
The large white pickup was carrying construction control device, including large cones. It also was pulling portable electric signage.
Around 6:22 p.m., Dennis Fire units responded to the scene just south of Washington Avenue along Route 47. Ocean View Fire also assisted, according to a Dennis Volunteer Fire Company Facebook post.
The cab had caught fire, but the occupants were safely out of the vehicle. There were no reported injuries.
Route 47 was closed for nearly 45 minutes as crews extinguished the fire and cleared debris from the roadway.
Inspira emergency medical services and the New Jersey State Police also responded.
