UPDATE: Driver Airlifted to Trauma Center After Crash on Seashore Road

COLD SPRING — Lower Township police identified the victim of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at approximately 5:30 pm in the area of Seashore Road and Stimpson Lane had been airlifted or head injuries sustained during the crash.
According to police, Steven M Soto, 31, of North Wildwood, was traveling south on Seashore Road when he collided head on with a tree after failing to negotiate a right curve in the roadway.
Soto was airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center’s trauma unit in Atlantic City by South Star. The flight crew reported the driver to be a conscious 31 year-old male in stable condition with a head injury.
The City of Cape May Fire Department, West Cape May Fire Department, Coast Guard Firefighters and Lower Township Rescue assisted the victim at the scene. Cape May police were first to arrive on scene and reported the driver to be unconscious.
Patrolman Pat Greene and Detective Edward Dougherty investigated the case.
