Suspended Driver Causes Green Creek Crash

GREEN CREEK — On Monday July 13, 2009, at approximately 11:49AM, Middle Township Police received a “911” call of a “head-on” motor vehicle crash in the area of mile post 6.85 of Route 47, in Green Creek.
The initial investigation revealed that Jeffrey Latimer, age 29, of Wildwood, was operating his motor vehicle south on Route 47, in
Green Creek, and was reaching for his cell phone, which caused his vehicle to cross the center line, side-swipe another vehicle operated by Kim Milburn, who was traveling north on Route 47, then crashed into a mailbox and sign post on the shoulder of Route 47. Minor injuries were sustained by both drivers, who were treated at the scene by members of the Rio Grande Rescue Squad, and released.
As a result of his actions, Latimer was charged with Improper use of Cell Phone, Failure to Maintain Lanes, Careless Driving, Suspended driver, and suspended driver causing a motor vehicle crash.
The crash in under investigation by Patrolman Steve Novsak.
