Pedestrian Hit by Car in Rio Grande

RIO GRANDE- A man received head injuries when he struck by a car at about 9:40 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 1500 block of Route 47 S near a local motel.
According to police, the victim, identified at Jeremiah Sullivan, 53, of Rio Grande, was attempting to cross Route 47 in the area of the Country Motel, when he was struck by a white 2007 Lexus driven by Raymond Norteman Jr., 74, of Wildwood Crest. Sullivan was not crossing at a marked crosswalk when the accident occurred.
The victim was transported to the Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment of a head injury by Middle Township Rescue. His condition remains unknown.
No charges have been filed and the investigation is pending. Patrolman John Norton and Detective Clint Stocker are the investigating officers.
Rio Grande Rescue, Middle Township police and Medic 5 responded to the scene.
