OCEAN VIEW — Belleplain Emergency Corps, AtlantiCare Paramedics and State Police responded to a dirt pit area off Stoney Court just after 7 p.m. July 29 for an all-terrain vehicle accident.
When Belleplain rescuers arrived, they requested the Ocean View Fire Department use bolt cutters to open a gated fence so they could gain access to the victim.
Soon after emergency medical technicians finally reached the scene, they requested a Medevac helicopter to fly. Ocean View Fire Department set up a landing zone behind the Franklin Savings Bank on Route 9.
According to a family member on scene, the victim was a 28-year-old female who was operating the ATV. When she attempted to negotiate a hill the ATV overturned.
South Star airlifted the victim to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Trauma Division. The victim’s injuries were unknown. No further information was available.
