Motorcycle Crash Victim Airlifted, Charged with DWI

GOSHEN –– Police responded last night to a report of a motorcycle in the woods and found an injured man on the side of the road.
At approximately 8:55 p.m., Middle Township police officers discovered Frank W. Jenkins, 59, of Dennisville, hurt on the side of Route 47 and his Harley Davidson wrecked in the woods near him.
Police reported that as Jenkins was negotiating a curve in the road he lost control of the motorcycle and went off the roadway on the southbound side.
Jenkins was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for his injuries and charged by police with driving while intoxicated.
Goshen Fire Department, Medic 9 and Middle Township Rescue assisted at the scene.
Route 47 had to be closed for approximately 90 minutes.
The accident is being investigated by Patrolman Walter Krych.
