ELDORA – Woodbine State Police troopers responded to a report of a one-car crash on SH 347 northbound at milepost .7 in Eldora July 30 at 4:37 p.m.
A green Hyundai was found to have been driven into a tree, according to a release. The vehicle had severe front damage. The driver was identified as Brooke Harris, 20, from Belleplain. She was located on the shoulder of the roadway and CPR was being administered by a civilian. She was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.
According to police, Harris apparently ran off the road and into the tree for unknown reasons.
The investigation is continuing.
According to a Facebook post on Abri Animal Hospital’s Facebook page, Harris’ dog Skittles, a black and white mixed breed, was in the car with Harris at the time of the accident, but is missing.
