Lower Police Vehicle Hit in Early Morning Accident

NORTH CAPE MAY – A Lower Township police vehicle was struck by another vehicle about 2:30 a.m. Sat., Oct 15, near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Bayshore Road.
Lower Township Police Cpl. Kevin Boyle was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center, treated for a head injury and released.
The driver of the other car, William Lowe Jr. of Woodbine, fled the scene. His vehicle struck a culvert and flipped in the 3700 block of Bayshore Road. Town Bank and Erma fire personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate Lowe, who was transported to Atlanticare in Atlantic City.
The County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating.
