TOWN BANK- On Sunday March 16 at approximately 8:45 p.m. Lower Township EMS and Erma Fire department responded to a head on collision involving a small car and pick-up truck, on Route 9 in the area of the parkway.
The two vehicles collided and both ran into the guardrail.
Firefighters used the Jaws-of-life to free the driver of the car. South Star Medevac landed at the Cape May County Airport to air lift the 19 year old male driver of the car to ARMC City Trauma Division. The flight crew reported the victim to be in stable condition with a broken arm. The other passenger of the car was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the truck suffered a facial laceration and refused medical treatment.
The road was closed for about 2 hours. The accident is under investigation by the Lower Township Police Dept.
