SOUTH DENNIS — Two cars collided when they stopped short to avoid rear ending a third car in the northbound lanes of Route 47 Fri. March 2 at approximately 10:30 a.m.
According to NJ State Police, the driver of the third car had completely stopped his vehicle in traffic so he could look at an accident that had just occurred in the south bound lanes. The two cars behind the stopped car were forced to stop short and collided. No injuries were reported in that accident.
A separate three-car accident in the southbound lanes of Route 47, near Route 83, had occurred a few minutes earlier at 10:26 a.m.
“One car rear-ended another,” said a police spokesman, “and that forced that car into a second car.”
One person from the three-car accident was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center via ambulance as a precaution.
Responding to the scene were NJ State Police and Dennis Township EMS.
