STONE HARBOR — At 9:46 a.m. July 25, Stone Harbor Fire-Rescue and police were summoned to 102nd and Sunrise Drive for a report of a vehicle struck a house.
When firefighter, under command of Assistant Chief Robert McClure arrived, they found that the vehicle had been driven at a high speed into the house, and that there were two victims, Daniel and Rosalie Brogan, of West Chester, Pa. and Stone Harbor, injured and trapped in the vehicle “deep inside the house,” according to a release.
Firefighters and rescue began to extricate the victims and requested aid from the Cape May Court House Fire Department for additional extrication equipment, the Jaws of Life hydraulic tool.
Avalon Rescue Squad and AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center paramedics were also summoned to assist the victims.
Two helicopters were dispatched to a landing zone and the Avalon Fire Department assisted with the landing zone assignment.
After 30 minutes, and the use of numerous extrication tools, the patients were extricated from the vehicle.
They were then transported by helicopter to AtantiCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Center.
The accident is under investigation by the Stone Harbor Police Department.
