The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency.
WEST CAPE MAY – The investigation into a May 18 fatal crash involving a bicyclist and New Jersey Transit bus was conducted by the Cape May Police Department with the assistance of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Jersey State Police, and the New Jersey Transit Police.
According to a release, that investigation concluded, and it was found, that the decedent fell off her bicycle in the roadway and came into contact with a New Jersey Transit bus resulting in her death.
It appears to have been an unpreventable, unfortunate set of circumstances. There will be no charges filed in reference to this accident.
According to a May Cape May Police Department release, the incident took place at the intersection of Broadway and Yorke Avenue in West Cape May.
The cyclist, Efterpi Hines of Cranbury, died at Cape Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in the accident.
